Kulgam: Thieves Attempt to Loot ATM, Cash Remains Safe

Kulgam, February 11 (KNO): In an overnight burglary attempt, unidentified thieves tried to steal cash from an ATM in Arreh village of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district, officials said on Tuesday.
An official told Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the burglars used a cutter to break into the ATM, but their attempt was unsuccessful.
"The ATM has been damaged to some extent, but the cash inside remains safe," the official confirmed.
Following the incident, the police took cognizance and launched an investigation.
"A forensic team is collecting evidence from the scene, and CCTV footage from the area is being thoroughly examined to identify the culprits," the official added.
Authorities have urged locals to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities that could assist in the investigation. Meanwhile, security measures around ATMs in the district have been tightened to prevent similar incidents in the future.
