Srinagar Police Arrests Drug Peddler, Recovers Contraband Substances
Srinagar Police arrested a suspected drug peddler, Hilal Ahmad Sheikh, in the Khanyar area and recovered a significant quantity of contraband substances. The accused was found with contraband during a patrol, leading to an FIR and further investigation. Additional contraband, cash, and a mobile phone were seized from his rented accommodation.

Srinagar,Feb 6:In a continued effort to curb drug-related activities, Srinagar Police apprehended a suspected drug peddler in the Khanyar area, leading to the recovery of contraband substances.
According to the News Agency—Srinagar News Observer (SNO) A police team from Police Station Khanyar, while patrolling the Naid Kadal area, intercepted a suspicious individual identified as Hilal Ahmad Sheikh, son of Paroz Ahmad Sheikh, a resident of Zahid Pora, Hawal, currently residing in Shah Colony, Parimpora. Upon searching him, authorities discovered a significant quantity of contraband in his possession.
Following the recovery, an FIR (No. 06/2025) was registered under relevant sections of the NDPS Act at Police Station Khanyar, and the accused was taken into custody.
During the investigation, the suspect disclosed information about additional contraband stored at his rented accommodation in Parimpora. Acting on this lead, police conducted a search at the location, resulting in the seizure of more contraband substances, ₹6,100 in cash, and a mobile phone.
The investigation is ongoing, with authorities expecting further recoveries and potential arrests as the case develops.
